Our local gallery "Galerie im Kornhaus" will become a "laboratory". This summer, we'll not close up, but work and experiment together with you! By saying "you", we don't just refer to the members of our art club "Gmünder Kunstverein e.V.", but to EVERY ARTIST ALL OVER THE WORLD!

To work together, we'll use the internet, of course. What we want to grow, is a "Tree of Art", if you will. Everyone who practices ART IN ANY FORM (from sculpture, painting and photography to music, performance and even literature) is invited to work with us. 

To participate, just fill in the form here. How does it work? And what happens after you submitted the form:

PART ONE: "The Trunk"
From all the forms we receive until June 15th 2015, we'll choose 32 artists. (Don't worry: Keep sending us forms after that date, as described above, every artist may participate.) 

These 32 artists will create the artworks of the trunk of our Art(ifical) Tree. We'll assign one day - 24 hours - to each of them: July 31st - August 31st (You can tell us preferred dates in the form.) Someday in summer, you get 24 hours to react to the previous day's artwork. Whether your reaction is an interpretation, a transfer or translation to another medium, a continuation, an abstraction, a reduction or any other kind of process that is based on (a part of) the previous artwork, is up to you. 

After you finished your work (but before midnight at the latest), you submit it on our web platform. It or in some cases, a visualization, will be printed in a standard format and put one above the other to form "The Trunk". Additionally, it will be printed, displayed on a screen, played, etc. in the gallery. When the gallery is filled and a new work of the same medium is submitted, the oldest is removed. However, the works remain in the tree and on the website during the experiment. The website will also be accessible from the gallery for visitors.

Three to five days after a work is submitted, the artist may submit a comment. This description may include any of the following: technique and media used, reaction process, meaning, thoughts on the project. Share your creativity with the world.

PART TWO: "The Branches"
If you weren't chosen for PART ONE or have submitted your form after June 15th, it's your turn now! This part starts on August 1st. The day - 24 hours - after an artwork of The Trunk has been submitted, any participant may create a work in reaction to it, as described in PART ONE. The rules for the comments are also the same as in PART ONE. These artworks will form the branches, as their representing prints are put next the part of the trunk, it is a reaction to. Some of them will be chosen to be (dis)played in the gallery as well. All of them will be presented on the website.

PART THREE: "The Twigs"
This part starts on August 2nd. Now there a greater number of artworks to choose from. The day - 24 hours - after an artwork of The Branches has been submitted, any participant may create a work in reaction to it, as described in PART ONE. The rules for the comment are also the same as in PART ONE. These artworks will form the twigs, as their representing prints are put next the part of the respective branch, it is a reaction to. Some of them will be chosen to be (dis)played in the gallery as well. All of them will be presented on the website.

PART FOUR: "The Leaves (in the Wind)"
This part starts on August 3rd. Now, the growth of the tree can be seen already. One work was not enough? You can't wait for your assigned day? Not a single artwork has caught your interest, but an entire branch or the whole tree (so far)? Then this is your turn! 

Anytime during the experiment (from August 3rd on), a work in reaction to a branch and one of its twigs may be created, submitted and commented by any participant. These works will become the leaves growing on the twigs. Some of them will be chosen to be (dis)played in the gallery as well. All of them will be presented on the website. There is more: if you're inspired by the synthesis of art, a work in reaction to the whole (to a point) may be created, submitted and commented by any participant. These works will be the leaves in the wind, being outside the whole and part of it at the same time. Works, which are an abstraction or reduction of the whole, will become the fallen leaves at the roots of the tree.
